Over the last 46 years, we have expanded programs and services to address the numerous and ever-changing obstacles low?income families face on their road to self?sufficiency. Today, CAA serves over 35,000 Hamilton County residents each year, through a multitude of programs and services performed by more than 300 dedicated employees. Through our direct services and extensive referral network, CAA provides comprehensive assistance to families struggling to rise out of poverty. With CAA: newborns can have healthy beginnings; teens and adults can find jobs; men can become better fathers; adults can pay their utility bills; families can obtain basic necessities; and much more.
Although CAA receives funding from government sources, there are still unmet needs and underserved populations within our community. Often, program grants are not flexible enough to support new, beneficial projects and initiatives even if they are directly in line with CAA’s core mission. Additionally, with our country’s recent economic downturn, government monies which, in years past, were specifically set aside for our programs and services can no longer be guaranteed. Because of this period of hardship, more families are turning to our agency for help, some for the first time. Faced with an influx of customers, and decreases in program and operational funding, CAA must rely on the community it serves now more than ever.
It is only through generous gifts to CAA’s Foundation that we are able to combat community issues of poverty in fresh and creative ways. The flexibility that comes from individual and corporate donations allows our agency to be more responsive to the community, helps us to better prepare for the future, and enables us to be more effective in our programs and activities. We greatly appreciate our community’s support as it helps ensure CAA’s unending service to Hamilton County residents for generations to come.
