Overcoming the disadvantages of poverty requires a comprehensive approach that addresses immediate
life-sustaining needs, while at the same time, providing the educational opportunities necessary to
improve one’s situation and to ensure a self-sufficient future. CAA’s Community Services programs
provide assistance in both of these ways.
Through our Supportive Services program, CAA provides people with immediate life necessities,
offering assistance with rent, mortgage, transportation, utility bills, vision care, food vouchers,
and other basic essentials.
Through numerous other Community Services programs, CAA provides a range of services to assist
low-income individuals in attaining the skills, knowledge, and motivation necessary to achieve
self-sufficiency. Individuals can learn computer skills, prepare for the GED, or enroll in classes
on parenting and healthy relationships in an effort to create lasting change in their lives.
