March 8, 2016 - Last year, the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency teamed up with State Farm to launch a new Veterans Program. This past Friday, March 4th, State Farm presented CAA with an additional $15,000 to continue the program for 2016, continue the successful project, and further expand Workforce Development for veterans in the community. The agency’s goal is to assist veterans through comprehensive case management, employment training and a continuum of care services.
Through the State Farm sponsored Veterans Program, CAA Workforce Development staff will collaborate with area organizations that have a common goal of assisting veterans in preparing for full-time employment. CAA’s collaboration with organizations such as Good Will and Ohio Means Jobs will enhance the collective effort to address the integral needs of veterans seeking work by providing job readiness, nationally recognized job skills training certifications and supplementing current partner programs by funding supportive services.
The common desired outcome for veterans in the program is full-time employment in a growth industry; a career pathway that offers continuing on-the-job training and advancement for veterans. Requirements to participate in the Veterans Program include:
• Must be an Active Duty Military member or US Veteran with an Honorable Discharge
(as stated on DD-214)
• Must be at or below 125% Federal Poverty
