Zumba – it’s all the rage, and now the dance/fitness workout is helping raise money for a good cause. Zumba lovers packed the F.I.T.E Gym in Carthage on April 6th to tone up and turn out for CAA’s Fresh Start program.
At the heart of the fundraiser is Tamara, a Mom on a mission to help ex-offenders get their lives back on track. Tamara put out the word that you could Zumba with a purpose and was pleasantly surprised when more than 50 people turned out for the event. The Zumbathon and Health Fair raised over $500! All proceeds were given to CAA’s Fresh Start program, which helps ex-offenders return to the workforce with workshops in resume development, interviewing, career coaching and job matching. Tamara is already planning for the next Zumbathon to help Fresh Start.
