Helping the Community Stay Cool When It’s Hot

It’s official – HEAP's Summer Crisis program is off and running! On July 1st we teamed up with the Council on Aging, the Cincinnati Health Department and the Salvation Army to kickoff the program that provides fans and air conditioners for the elderly and those with chronic health conditions.
There are several changes to the program this year, including income guidelines lowered from  last year, and stipulations that if an individual received a fan or air conditioner from HEAP in the last three years, they are not eligible this year. Seniors and those with chronic medical conditions will qualify as long as a signed statement from a doctor is provided. A photo ID must be presented showing the age and address of the senior.
HEAP staff will be handling both walk-in and set appointments  – call 866-747-1039 to learn more. The Summer Crisis Program runs through August 31st.
