The Community Action Agency is once again proving to be the place people go for help even free legal advice. Recently, CAA played host to a team of local attorneys who have formed the Avondale-Bond Hill Legal Clinic. During the two day clinic on June 8th and 15th, the lawyers assisted more than 60 individuals/families with legal questions, everything from Child Support, Employment to Bankruptcy and Criminal matters.
Organizer and Attorney Jaia Thomas passed along survey comments from people who came to the clinic:
“This service is great; I really appreciate the attorney’s time.”
“Thank you for offering this type of forum. Much needed and appreciated.”
“This gave people the opportunity that maybe didn’t have funds or knowledge to get information to help them go forward.”
“This clinic was so informative, I appreciate all the info I was given. Everyone was so nice, patient and educational. Thank you.”
“Thank you for providing this service it is really needed in our community. Many people have no access to legal assistance and small issues become large.”
